The Media’s Involvement in the Financial Services Industry

The Tumas Fenech Foundation for Education in Journalism (FTFEĠ), in association with the Institute of Maltese Journalists (IĠM), Leading Talks and the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA), would like to invite you to a seminar with the theme, The Media’s Involvement in the Financial Services Industry, being held at the MFSA in Attard on Friday, 22 January, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The media shoulders a great deal of responsibility when it covers the Financial Services Industry. What are some examples of best practice in the coverage of the industry? What are the pitfalls to be avoided? The Foundation has teamed up with the MFSA and obtained support from the Ministry of Finance to organise this half day seminar with two keynote speakers who will focus on both the UK and the European financial services sector. There will also be ample opportunity to ask questions and to get a wide range of views from the market regulators and the players.

Caroline Mitchell is the Lead Ombudsman at the Financial Ombudsman Service in the UK responsible for Stakeholder Strategy, which brings together the press and communications teams with outreach and policy.

Elena Peresso works in the policy co-ordination unit of the Directorate General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union – DG FISMA – at the European Commission.
